The Thank You Prayer

We've started a tradition with Shea of reading 'The Thank You Prayer' Book every night before bed, and helping her to understand what it means to be grateful for all we have. She has memorized the book and it is so sweet to hear her little voice read it back to us :)

Holy Guacamole!

I took my first crack at making guacamole this weekend! I got my supplies all ready...

And it turned out awesome! I had a great teacher, the best really. Our dear friend Lina who grew up in Colombia and knows what she's doing :) We love it when Tia Lina stops by for a guacamole visit. My first choice will always be enjoying this yummy treat in her company, but if we can't get together I'm quite pleased I've mastered it now too :)

Track Club! Our Very 1st Organized Sport

We gave Shea 3 choices of what she'd like to participate in this summer and as soon as she heard there was a track team for her age she was all over it. She just kept yelling "I want to run! I want to run!", and the rest is history. She had her first practice tonight where they moved between 6 different stations with activities, but she wasn't truly happy until she made it to the final station where she got to RUN!

Even though it was past the Cade-man's bedtime he loved being out in the fresh air and people watching. Oh, and shoe eating too.

Mall CaMerica (In Shea Speak)

We just got back from an awesome girls trip to the Mall of America with my mom. Shea was overwhelmed with all of the fun things to do there, but loved all of it. The Lego store was a big hit!
We all really enjoyed the aquarium and the Princess Diana exhibit was awesome!
We took a break to ride some rides before heading to IKEA where Shea crashed. It was really fun to have a girls trip with our big 3 year old :)

Last Night Was a Looong Night!

We were pooped this fine Sunday morning! After a long day of nasty storms (multiple) moving through our area, we were up late listening to the tornado sirens go off 3 different times last night!  Trying to figure out what type of action to take is stressful and tiring. Thankfully the weather's bark was louder then its' bite and everyone in our area was safe.

Luckily, before going to bed we threw together a french toast bake I'd been wanting to try and popped it in the fridge. So this morning we pulled it out, crumbled the streusel topping on it and diced up some apples... and it was GOOD! Really nice to have something tasty and warm in our bellies.

I found this sweet little thing peeking through his crib slats while we waited on breakfast :)

A Rained Out Saturday

To say we got a little bit of rain today would be an understatement :) It fell fast and it fell hard. Thankfully we haven't seen any tornados but this stormy day isn't quite over. Hunkering down and hoping for the best!

Sibling Speak

Sometimes it gets pretty noisy in our neck of the woods :) Caden seems to really enjoy starting 'conversations' with his sissy!
